Seeing The Good Stuff
It’s a choice we make
Journal: 15 August, 2024, morning.
A few daily life captures from the past several weeks:
Am I early for Fall? Maybe. These days summer is getting a little shopworn though, and we are all dreaming of those cool and crisp fall mornings. Light jackets, and where are my heavy socks, and remembering where we stored the down comforter.
I saw the most perfect little heart shaped leaf, all alone, as though Nature’s decorating guru had purposefully staged it for me.
The Sweet Autumn Clematis is blooming: great masses and spills of those luxurious and fragrant white blossoms. Such a delight to happen upon it in our morning walks. A sensory feast, in every way.
This is my favorite cornmeal, from Bob’s Red Mill. There is a real Bob and the history is a good story. Here’s the link: https://www.bobsredmill.com/bobs-way/meet-bob-and-charlee-moore/
Even in the increasingly hot days of deep summer there are tiny flowers to be found. You just have to slow down and look closely to find them.
Are those not the most gorgeous green eyes? So beautiful. This little one lives around Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and greets us coming and going (yes, greeters come in all shapes and sizes).
The week is not complete without pasta. Sometimes several times. We love this lightly sauced summer pasta dish. The sweet peppery flavors are delicious.
I got a new pair of shoes and I liked them so much I immediately ordered two more pair, one in gray and one in a red plaid. No squished toes! 😁
